Description
This class introduces frontline law enforcement officers to the concepts and methods of Suspicious Activity Reporting within the State of Vermont. Street level law enforcement officers, by the very nature of their jobs, come into contact with a host of parties who may have information that relates to criminal activity, including preparations for acts of terrorism. It is clear that no effort to address terrorism, whether undertaken by federal, state, or local government, will be successful if these information assets at the street level are not funneled into the overall planning and response efforts of the specialized counterterrorism units. This class sets forth the methods by which this is designed to happen within the State of Vermont.
