This class is about the common interactions that a law enforcement officer can expect to have with those who have autism and other developmental disorders.
Upon successful completion of this class, the officer will be able to:
- Identify the common interactions that law enforcement officers are likely to encounter.
- Identify how to safely deal with individuals who have autism and other developmental disorders.
- Understand the importance of working with family members and other care givers to maximize safe and effective interactions.
- Identify how to work with the family, other caregivers and the community for proactive responses to persons who have autism and other developmental disabilities.
