Description
In this class students will learn that addiction is a chronic, often relapsing, brain disease causing changes in the structure, and function of the brain resulting in compulsive drug seeking and use despite the harmful consequences to the individual that is addicted.
You will learn the difference between drug use, drug misuse, and substance use disorder; the criteria for substance use disorder; and the cost of substance use disorders on the individual and society.
