Learn the skills needed to keep your officers and the community safe. Roll Call Mental Health Training is a series of web-based training modules that provide officers with tools to readily identify the signs of mental illness in the field and to safely and effectively de-escalate these encounters. Funded by a grant from The Ahmanson Foundation.
The Guidance Center partnered with Long Beach and Los Angeles Police Departments and Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department to develop a series of web-based trainings for any local or state law enforcement agency across the country to use.
First responders are at a greater risk than the general population for emotional disturbances, mental illness, and suicide because of the demands of the job. Dealing with grief and loss is a part of being a law enforcement professional. Make staying healthy a part of it, too.
This module covers supportive organizations outside of department for law enforcement and their families who are struggling, common signs of mental health issues like depression, and tips for reducing personal fatigue and promoting positive mental health.
