The National Emerging Special Pathogens Training and Education Center (NETEC) provides updates about the recently evolving situation regarding the spread of Monkeypox, a rare but potentially severe viral disease. Monkeypox can spread between humans via contact with skin lesions and infected respiratory droplets. To ensure early detection and isolation of the infected, first responders should be on alert for signs of the disease and report cases of the disease to the local public health department.
